Ringkasan program

This program addresses humans as organisms, interfacing with their environment and the resulting effects of this interaction on the human condition. HEE seeks to promote interdisciplinary understanding of the environmental, social and economic dimensions of human-environment interactions. Students in this program will develop expertise in three key areas: (1) Human dependence on ecosystems, (2) Humanity's "ecological footprint", (3) The theory and practice of sustainable human-environment interactions. Also students in this program will gain experience in formulating values and ethical positions and in developing various methodological skills, including methods of scientific research, information literacy, quantitative and qualitative analysis, analysis of rhetoric and public speaking skills. A goal for students of this program is the ability to apply information, skills and values to everyday life choices.

Students should have a equivalent of four years of high school or secondary school work in English or the language of instruction (including literature, grammar, and composition courses), Three years of mathematics, including algebra, geometry, and advanced algebra, At least one year of a laboratory science (biology, chemistry, or physics), Two years of social science (history, government, economics, psychology, or sociology). Either the SAT I or the ACT is required. The IU school code is 1324 for the SAT and 1210 for the ACT. TOEFL is not required for most freshman applicants. However, if students have taken the TOEFL they are encouraged to submit their scores to assist with academic advising. Students should also posses the following international secondary level requirements based on their country they come from; India - Higher Secondary School Certificate or Indian School Certificate Examination. Pakistan - Higher Secondary Certificate or Intermediate Certificate. Singapore - Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education showing completion of at least six Ordinary Level examinations with grades of A, B or C. At least one exam must be in each of the following areas: English, Math, Lab Science, and Social Science. Bangladesh - Higher Secondary Certificate. China - Graduation Certificate from upper middle school. Indonesia - Surat Tanda Tamat Belajar (STTB)- Sekolah Menegah Unum Tingkat Atas (SMA) (Certificate of Completion of General Academic Upper Secondary School).
