The University of Sioux Falls, a Christian University in the liberal arts tradition, educates students in the humanities, sciences, and professions. The traditional motto of the university is Culture for Service, that is, it seeks to foster academic excellence and the development of mature Christian persons for service to God and humankind in the world. It encourages faculty and staff to integrate their faith into every aspect of the University - whether they're teaching in the classroom, coaching basketball, or interacting with students in the residence halls. Within and beyond the classroom, they will appreciate how faith and learning are integrated. Small classes, personal attention, a comfortable atmosphere, and the opportunity to form close relationships with peers, professors, and administrators are the most common reasons students choose the University of Sioux Falls. University of Sioux Falls is committed to providing a residence life program that nurtures the integration of the whole person spiritually, intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically. Campus living is the focal point for many challenges that will encourage growth and development. As students meet these challenges, they will receive support from the residence life staff. Sullivan is USF's newest and largest residence hall. It provides second, third and fourth year students the opportunity to live in a beautiful living environment. Large rooms with air-conditioning and a sink provide maximum comfort. Students living in the Faith and Living Center also explore faith through planed activities. In Burgess Hall all men's residence hall located near the Stewart Center houses 116 residences. Burgess has a study lounge, a TV lounge, a kitchen, a ping pong table and direct access to a computer lab. Grand Island Hall with capacity for 122 female residents, "G.I." is one of the places to be at USF. A large central lounge with a fireplace promotes a lively atmosphere. Also, there is a computer lab and each of the three floors has its own lounge. Kroske Hall USF's unique housing experience can house 78 students-both male and female. Men occupy rooms on first floor, and women live on the second and third floors. This residence hall has central lounges, a kitchen facility, direct access to a computer lab and a great sense of community. Collier Baker Hall is an apartment style suite living residence that provides housing for both men and women. Each apartment is equipped for four people and is complete with a kitchenette and bathroom/shower. In Patterson Hall One and two bedroom apartment-style living units for married students. These units offer independent living with the convenience of an on-campus location.
