Students should have completed the following coursework at the college preparatory level or higher during high school such as four years of English, two years of social studies (including one year of U.S. history), three years of mathematics, two years of foreign language (in a single language), three years of science (two with a lab), and two years of electives. In addition to this, students must have considerable facility with English, and prospective students whose native language is not English are required to take college writing 1 and 2 with a grade of C or better at a regionally accredited college or university, or to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). They should have a minimum TOEFL score of 550 on the paper version of the test, 213 on the computer-based version and 79-80 on the internet-based version.

The Department of Cultural Studies offers two degree programs: a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Languages. Several interdisciplinary minors in the fine arts, humanities and social sciences are also sponsored by this department. In addition, Cultural Studies oversees the Art History program.

The residence life provides a living and learning environment that promotes the personal and academic success of each individual student while preparing them to be engaged citizens. The University offers on-campus housing with various residential halls having different suites. They are as follows: Concordia Leitch is one of the halls with single room facility. Where Bourgeois, Eames, Fox, Leitch, Sheehy, Smith comes under double and triple room category in which Bourgeois, Fox, Leitch also comes under quad room style. Donahue and Sheehy halls occupy four, six or eight persons in each room and East Meadow Lane with double and single room apartment. All rooms are furnished with a bed, desk, chair, bureau and closet for each student in the room. Many rooms also have a bookshelf and lounge chair. Suite style rooms also have couches, study tables and chairs, and private bathrooms. The University does not restrict students from bringing their own furniture/furnishings, but university cannot store student’s belongings nor the universities property outside students own room. The following is a list items students will likely want/need to or can bring: clothes, blankets/ bedspread/ bed pillow/ towels/ washcloths/ sheets (to fit 80" twin mattress), desk lamp / desk fan / desk blotter, clothes hangers, toiletries / hair dryer / container to carry toiletries to shower / sewing kit, laundry detergent (and quarters for the machines)/ laundry basket or bag), refrigerator (5.5 cubic feet maximum), microwave (toaster ovens are not permitted), back pack, memo board for door, pens/ pencils/ tape/ stapler and staples/ envelopes and stamps, wall decorations/ carpet or floor rug, alarm clock, flashlight, waste paper basket, umbrella / raincoat, dictionary / thesaurus / calculator, mugs / glasses, electric iron/ ironing board, radio / stereo / TV / DVD player / VCR, hobby supplies/ sports equipment, coffee maker.
