This program is excellent preparation for individuals who wish to pursue careers in local, state, or federal government; nonprofit organizations; the private sector; or international affairs. Career paths may lead to jobs in housing and community development, intergovernmental relations, nonprofit management, public finance, training, transportation, public policy analysis, and environmental organizations. In addition, the degree builds a solid foundation for future graduate work. Public Sector Management emphasizes the legislative, organizational, and financial aspects of public administration. Courses provide theoretical and practical examinations of federal, state, and local governments in relation to business, labor, and communities. Basic managerial and finance courses are geared toward the public sector.

Modul program

The McGhee Core Curriculum is required of all degree-seeking students enrolled at the Paul McGhee Division: Writing (8 - 10 Credits): The following courses may be required based on writing placement assessment, and should be successfully completed within the first three semesters: Intensive Writing Workshop / Y20.7501; Writing Workshop I / Y20.7502; Writing Workshop II / Y20.7503. Critical Thinking (4 Credits): Critical Thinking / Y20.6401. Quantitative Reasoning (4 Credits): Students select one of the following based on math placement assessment in close consultation with their advisor: Math I / Y10.1101; Mathematical Reasoning / Y10.1105; Math II / Y10.1141; Precalculus / Y10.1171; Calculus with Applications to Business and Economics / Y10.1174. History, Culture, and Art (12 Credits): Students select one course from each subgroup in consultation with their advisor.
