The Biology Department of PRAIRIE VIEW A and M UNIVERSITY strives to prepare its students for careers in the health professions. Many of the students, upon matriculation, enter medical schools, veterinary schools, dental schools, optometry schools, or pharmacy schools. The department also prepares its students to study medical technology, physical therapy, or occupational therapy. The department also allows students to have careers as physician assistants, dental assistants and health professional assistants. Those biology students not interested in continuing on to health professional school enter graduate studies, or become health educators.

At University, students can have the privacy and lifestyle that they deserve in a freshmen student community that is conducive to achieving academic success. With a great location, private bedroom accommodations, fully furnished units, individual liability leases and extensive community amenities, there is no reason to look anywhere else. Interior features includes the following: regular twin size bed, microwave, refrigerator, cable television service included, mirrored walls and doors, computer desk, housekeeping service, ample closet space, fully furnished units, wireless internet, and disability access. The university has four student housing communities, including apartments for upper classmen and a living and learning community just for freshmen. Students can request two or four bedroom apartments (upper classmen) and the roommate(s) of their choice.
