The department has state-of the-art instrumentation for teaching and research in chemistry and allied field, multimedia-equipped classrooms, modern laboratories for teaching and research. Faculty members have specializations in analytical, environmental, inorganic, organic, physical, and biochemistry . Most of the students continue in chemistry-related fields after graduation, often attending graduate schools in chemistry, biochemistry, or medicine, or pursuing careers in industrial research or the biomedical sciences. Department award B.Sc. in chemistry with degree options in Biomedical sciences or Forensic sciences, in addition to the traditional chemistry option.

At University, students can have the privacy and lifestyle that they deserve in a freshmen student community that is conducive to achieving academic success. With a great location, private bedroom accommodations, fully furnished units, individual liability leases and extensive community amenities, there is no reason to look anywhere else. Interior features includes the following: regular twin size bed, microwave, refrigerator, cable television service included, mirrored walls and doors, computer desk, housekeeping service, ample closet space, fully furnished units, wireless internet, and disability access. The university has four student housing communities, including apartments for upper classmen and a living and learning community just for freshmen. Students can request two or four bedroom apartments (upper classmen) and the roommate(s) of their choice.
