This program encompasses both communication theory and rhetorical arts, has two primary educational goals: to develop students’ ability to communicate with others and to educate students to effectively evaluate the communication of others. Law is fundamentally a profession about research and communication. The practice of law involves researching case law, constructing arguments, and persuading others. It demands the ability to clearly construct, present and analyze arguments. With a field so steeped in verbal and nonverbal skill requirements, a background in communication can serve as an effective foundation for a career in law. Communication training, or a degree in communication, is extremely useful for admission to law schools, as well as providing skills for use after law school. It is also valuable to paralegals and legal secretaries. This communication specialization is intended for students who are interested in some aspect of the legal profession ranging from attorneys to those who work with attorneys and the courts. The potential careers include attorney, jury consultant, paralegal, legal secretary, research specialist, legal brief writer.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students should be a high school graduate from an accredited high school. They should have achieved an ACT score of 21 or above or an SAT (critical reading and math) of 980 or above; or ranked in the top third of the graduating class at the end of the seventh or eighth semester; or completed the precollege curriculum such as English, natural science, math, and social science. In addition to this, if international students meet the academic requirements, Kansas State University may conditionally admit them with no proof of English proficiency. English proficiency requirements for unconditional admission are transfer students from a U.S. institution must have completed both 24 credit hours at an accredited U.S. institution and English Composition I and II with grades of C or better; an IBT (Internet based TOEFL) - composite score of 79 or higher; IELTS - composite score of 6.5 or higher; ACT - English part score of 23 or higher; SAT - verbal part score of 530 or higher; PTE - Pearson Test of English - overall score of 53 or higher; Eiken (Pre-1 score); and four years attendance in a U.S. high school with grades of C or better in all college preparatory courses.
