This program prepares students to capitalize on-and successfully navigate-the explosive growth in the continually-evolving games phenomenon. The program helps the student acquire a comprehensive understanding of interactive digital media, a balance of disciplinary competencies, and the mastery of a self-defined set of inter-related disciplinary challenges. As a student, they will gain an understanding of games from the broadest range of possible perspectives and play an active role in research and education in disciplines ranging from the visual and aural aspects of new media in the electronic arts, cognition and artificial intelligence in cognitive science, digital graphics and software development in computer science, experimental game design in psychology, human computer interaction and computer graphics in communication and the arts. At Rensselaer, the education will equip the student with the design, technical, communication, and leadership skills needed to enter this exciting field and make an instant impact. Rensselaer's approach to games studies combines theory and practice, along with a strong emphasis on collaborative, interdisciplinary teamwork.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

A TOEFL score of at least 230 CBT, 88 iBT, or 570 PBT is required. For students not able to take the TOEFL, the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) may be substituted for the TOEFL. An IELTS score of at least 7.0 is expected. Only the academic format is accepted.SAT (critical reading, math, and writing) or ACT (which must include the optional writing component) is required. SAT Subject Tests in a math and a science is required for accelerated program applicants only (or ACT, which must include the optional writing component, in lieu of SAT and SAT Subject Tests). The applicants who are best suited for Rensselaer will have completed four years of English, four years of mathematics through pre-calculus, three years of science, three years of social studies and/or history.
