This program is the study of physical activity across a range of tasks including exercise, daily living, play, sport, and work. Course work integrates biological and behavioral approaches using biomechanical, physiological, psychological, and sociological perspectives to study physical activity from cell to society. This life science discipline emphasizes breadth and depth of content, scientific methodology, and intellectualism for lifelong learning, thinking, and action. Kinesiology promotes an understanding of the necessity of movement activities for an individual’s physical and psychological health. Students may earn a BA or BS degree in Kinesiology or BS dual degree with majors in nutrition and exercise science. Within these degrees, students emphasize exercise physiology or public health physical activity. Students may also complete a health fitness instructor sub-curriculum that prepares graduates to seek careers in corporate and community settings in fitness and wellness, and in hospital settings in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. Many students enter graduate and professional schools for preparation for careers in exercise physiology, public health physical activity, physical therapy, pharmacy, medicine, dietetics, biomechanics, exercise and sport psychology, and other related fields.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students should be a high school graduate from an accredited high school. They should have achieved an ACT score of 21 or above or an SAT (critical reading and math) of 980 or above; or ranked in the top third of the graduating class at the end of the seventh or eighth semester; or completed the precollege curriculum such as English, natural science, math, and social science. In addition to this, if international students meet the academic requirements, Kansas State University may conditionally admit them with no proof of English proficiency. English proficiency requirements for unconditional admission are transfer students from a U.S. institution must have completed both 24 credit hours at an accredited U.S. institution and English Composition I and II with grades of C or better; an IBT (Internet based TOEFL) - composite score of 79 or higher; IELTS - composite score of 6.5 or higher; ACT - English part score of 23 or higher; SAT - verbal part score of 530 or higher; PTE - Pearson Test of English - overall score of 53 or higher; Eiken (Pre-1 score); and four years attendance in a U.S. high school with grades of C or better in all college preparatory courses.
