The department offers a combined bachelor of science in computer engineering to Master of Science program. In the computer science area, it offers a combined bachelor of science to Master of Science degree program. Students in either combined program may count nine credits of approved graduate course work toward both their bachelor’s and master’s degrees. With an approximate duration of five years, these combined programs provide attractive ways for students to continue their graduate work.

The minimum requirements for admission are: a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution, a grade point average (GPA)of 3.0 or higher in the last 60 credits of undergraduate course work, or a total score of 1000 or higher on the combined verbal and quantitative sections of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE),taken within the last five years. Highly promising applicants who do not precisely meet the above GPA or GRE standards can petition the College Graduate Admissions Committee for a review of their file, including such evidence as undergraduate grade trends; professional work experience; performance in preparatory undergraduate criminal justice courses; subsequent scores after retaking the GRE; and related indicators of graduate-level capability. An international student is required to achieve a minimum score of 550 (CBT-213) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
