Speech-language pathology focuses on the identification, assessment, and treatment of speech and communication disorders. NSU offers a master of science (M.S.) in speech-language pathology that combine scientifically based curricula with clinical and externship experiences.

The Dual Admission Program in speech-language and communication disorders is open to both freshmen and transfer students. Candidates may pursue a bachelor's degree in any major, although a major in psychology and a minor in speech language pathology are recommended and three credits each in biological and physical sciences are required. Freshmen must have a 3.2 high school GPA and a combined 1000 SAT or 21 ACT score. Transfer students must have an entering 3.2 GPA. Candidates may pursue any undergraduate major. A preadmission interview may be required. The Dual Admission Program in speech-language and communication disorders normally requires four years of undergraduate study in any major and 18 months to complete the master’s degree. The dual admission doctoral program normally requires four years of undergraduate education and four years of graduate study.
