This program seeks to create an environment conducive to the development of musical understanding and appreciation, creativity, and artistic performance. Specific objectives are to achieve personal and professional growth through the development of artistic sensitivity in music making, to contribute to the understanding and development of aesthetic insight, to empower individuals for discovering and achieving personal growth, to develop a cross-fertilization of musical styles and world music through research, scholarship, performance and creative expression, to prepare professionally competent musicians, and to provide the musical knowledge, skill, techniques, and experience for those who wish to build a teaching career in music.

Modul program

The modules are; Public Performance (7 semesters), Guitar Proficiency Class (1) 1, Music Theory I Lab (1+1), Music Theory I (3+3), Piano Competency, Music Theory II (3+3), Music History (3+3), Elem. Sch. Mus. Methods and Materials, Sec. Sch. Mus. Methods and Materials, Senior Seminar, Senior Recital (2), Administration of Ensembles 1, Vocal Diction and Literature, Band History and Literature 1, Strings/Orchestra History and Lit., Applied Voice (2 cr x 5), Applied Piano (2 cr x 2), Brass Methods (1-2), Woodwind Methods (1-2), Percussion Methods (1-2).

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students must have completed their secondary education within their home country. For admission to the University, a student’s overall academic performance will be taken into consideration. As a proof of English Proficiency, students must submit any of the following documents: TOEFL score of 500 or better (paper based exam) 173 or better (computer based exam), IELTS score of 5.5 or higher, Michigan Test of English Proficiency - student must earn a score of 80 or better, Successful completion of Level 109 at an English Language School. Students must have an accumulative Grade Point Average of 2.0 or higher. They should successfully complete an audition for the music faculty. The student to the music curricula leading to a degree in music is expected to have a sufficient ability to relate musical sound to notation analogy in order to undertake basic musicianship studies in the freshman year. The applicant's music performance ability plays a significant factor in determining eligibility for entrance to a degree program in music. Each applicant is required to audition. A tape recording or videotape may be sent in support of application for admission.
