In this concentration, students will have the opportunity to delve deep into the structure and processes of the law and how it relates to their personal and professional worlds. They can gain a solid foundation that can prepare them for law school or other exciting areas in the legal field within: Law firms, state and federal courts, corporate compliance offices. To help gain a greater understanding of justice in action, they will: Focus on the concepts and processes related to criminal law, including criminal procedures, prosecution, defense, and court procedures and decision-making; examine major criminal law violations and the differences between de-criminalization and legalization; explore debates surrounding key social issues, including immigration, abortion, intellectual property, and the separation of church and state; learn how civil law is relevant to human resource managers, healthcare professionals, and public administrators.

Admission is considered for adult students who hold a high school diploma or its equivalent. Applicants must also meet one of the following criteria: be 24 years old or older; or be active in the military or a veteran; or already have earned 90 college quarter credit hours.
