This concentration is a direct reflection of Walden’s social change mission and helps empower individuals to effect positive change by developing products, services, and solutions that address specific societal needs. With a comprehensive look at this new and growing field, students will: Study how they can join other social entrepreneurs who are taking the lead nationally and globally in addressing poverty, responding to HIV/AIDS, and making nonprofit organizations more effective; examine many of the substantive and procedural aspects of social entrepreneurship; identify key challenges facing organizations that rely heavily on volunteers and the most effective solutions.

Admission is considered for adult students who hold a high school diploma or its equivalent. Applicants must also meet one of the following criteria: be 24 years old or older; or be active in the military or a veteran; or already have earned 90 college quarter credit hours.
