This program is designed to provide a world-class educational opportunity for students by combining the academic requirements of the Ohio State University with golf business knowledge and golf aptitude expectations. A career in golf management requires diverse knowledge and skills including finance, personnel management, marketing, food and beverage management, merchandising, plant science, inventory control, lesson planning, individual and group teaching, and social and professional interactions, as well as golf skills. Upon completion of all requirements, students will receive a bachelor of science degree in agriculture with a major in professional golf management. The B.Sc. degree in agriculture with a major in PGM is a comprehensive academic program, which requires students to excel in several disciplines relevant to the golf industry and beyond. For this curriculum, the college of food, agricultural and environmental sciences collaborates with the fisher college of business, the school of physical activities and educational services, and the college of human ecology to offer a unique multidisciplinary curriculum to provide students with the necessary tools of business, economics, coaching, hospitality management, and turfgrass science to be successful in today’s golf industry. This program provides students the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for success in the golf industry through extensive classroom studies, internship experience and player development.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students must have a successful completion of four years of a university preparatory curriculum (also known as college preparatory curriculum or college prep) while in the final four years (grades 9-12) of high school/secondary school such as four units of English, three (four)units of math, three units of natural science with significant lab experience, two (three) units of social science, two (three) units of the same foreign language, one unit of a visual or performing art, one additional unit of the above courses and they must possess the performance in high school/secondary school as shown by class rank or grade point average. They should have the SAT critical reading and verbal score of at least 500 and ACT English score of at least 21. International applicants whose native language is not English must have results from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of at least 527 on the paper based test, 71 on the Internet-based test, score of at least 79 on the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) and an official band score of at least 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
