Ringkasan program
The leadership and organizational communication emphasis focuses on communication in the workplace. This emphasis is designed for students who plan to become leaders and managers in business, governmental, or non-profit organizations, and who want to begin their careers well-prepared for the complexities of workplace communication. Courses in this emphasis address contemporary theories of organizational communication and leadership, as well as applications to specific contexts such as small group dynamics, motivational techniques, interviewing skills and conflict management.

The following are the modules: Communication Studies Major (40): Core: 19 credits: CMST 100, 211 or 210, 220, 300, 301, 319, 330; UDWR: 3 credits: CMST 303; Required: 9 credits: CMST 340 or CMST 341, CMST 441/541, CMST 448/548; Leadership and Organizational Communication Electives: 6 credits: Choose two courses: CMST 229 or CMST 240, CMST 302 (Special Topics in Communication Studies with Leadership and Organizational Communication designation - repeatable with different topic and designated for this emphasis), CMST 318, 321, 340, 341, 402/502 (Special Topics in Communication Studies with Leadership and Organizational Communication designation - repeatable with different topic and designated for this emphasis), CMST412/512, 428/528, 429/529, 439/539, 444. Leadership and Organizational Communication General Electives: 3 credits; Choose any CMST 3 credit course.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Applicants must have four years of English including composition and literature, three years of social studies including one year each of U.S. history and geography, three years of math including two years of algebra and one of geometry, two years of the same world language, one year in an area of the arts, three years of science including one year of each of a biological and physical science and one year laboratory experience. International applicants must satisfy one of the following requirements: meet the score of 61 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT) or 500 for the Institutional (paper) TOEFL or 500 standard on International (paper) Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Apart from this they must also have 5.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), 70 on Michigan, SAT critical reading score of 370, graduation from an English-medium high school with a 2.5 (cumulative equivalent) GPA or higher.
