The combined BA/MA program affords Villanova Undergraduate Sociology and Criminal Justice majors the opportunity to earn a Master’s degree by completing a fifth year of study in the Criminal Justice graduate program. This is achieved by permitting qualified students to begin taking graduate level courses during their senior year as an undergraduate. Students who select the comprehensive exam option will ask a graduate faculty member to supervise a directed study during the summer. For students doing the five year BA/MA option, students will generally take the normal load of three graduate courses during the fall and spring semesters of their fifth year. Regular meetings with their graduate advisor are necessary to ensure that all curricular requirements are satisfied.

Students must have completed their bachelors degree for admission into masters degree and masters degree for admission into doctoral degree. Some departments require a GPA of 3.0. The minimum acceptable scores for TOEFL are: paper-based 550, computer-based 213, and internet-based 80. TOEFL scores are valid for two years from the test date.
