The combined BA/MA program affords Villanova Undergraduate Sociology and Criminal Justice majors the opportunity to earn a Master’s degree by completing a fifth year of study in the Criminal Justice graduate program. This is achieved by permitting qualified students to begin taking graduate level courses during their senior year as an undergraduate. Students selecting the internship option should meet with the program director and internship coordinator during the second semester of their senior year. Approved field placements will be discussed and students will request an internship setting consistent with their learning objectives and career goals. The field experience must occur during the Summer between the fourth and fifth years. Students must ask a second graduate faculty member to join the internship coordinator as a member of their supervising Internship Committee. Weekly learning reports should be prepared and submitted to committee members.

Students must have completed their bachelors degree for admission into masters degree and masters degree for admission into doctoral degree. Some departments require a GPA of 3.0. The minimum acceptable scores for TOEFL are: paper-based 550, computer-based 213, and internet-based 80. TOEFL scores are valid for two years from the test date.
