This program offers course work in rhetorical, performance and social science traditions. Students are afforded opportunities to explore communication from applied and theoretical perspectives in organizational settings and through co-curricular activities. Course work features the investigation of communication in organizational, interpersonal, aesthetic, health, legal, political, cultural, intercultural and international contexts. Students encounter topics such as gender and diversity issues, social change, conflict, narrative and cultural studies. It requires a minimum of 120 semester hours, 42 of which must be advanced, and fulfillment of degree requirements for the Bachelor of Arts degree. Students majoring in Communication Studies are required to have a minimum grade of "C" in all COMM courses to graduate. Students must observe prerequisites for each COMM course. If a student registered for a course has not completed prerequisites for the course with a grade of "C" or better, the student is subject to being dropped from the course without notice. A student who has completed 90 hours with a minimum GPA of 3.50 is eligible to write a Senior Honors Thesis. Students who elect this option are expected to complete their theses in the course of a single semester.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students must have graduated from an accredited high school and strongly recommend that students take the following classes in high school. Students should have a strong ‘B’ average and have completed three units of English and two units each of solid mathematics, social science and natural science. Students should have a minimum combined SAT (combined critical reading/verbal and math) score of 1180 or ACT composite of 26. International students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 79 (Internet-based), score of 550 (Paper-based) and score of 213 (Computer-based) and a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall band and also should have minimum MELAB (official version) score of 80 or higher.
