The courses are designed to encourage students to solve problems in collaboration with others, to develop skills in critical thinking, and to communicate effectively with language, physical expression, and visual images. This focus on the development of artistic and intellectual skills, through study and production experience, helps prepare students for careers in the professional theater and in a variety of other fields.

Modul program

The following are the modules: Major Requirements: Two Theater Studies 101S “Reading Theater” Seminars, each on a different topic; or Theater Studies 116S “Duke in London (strongly recommended) and one Theater Studies 101S “Reading Theater” Seminar, 135S: Dramatic Writing, 145S: Introduction to Acting, 155S: Directing, One 100-level design class, 189S: Senior colloquium, Three additional 100-level courses in Theater Studies, Theater Studies 91: Intro to Theater Studies OR Theater Studies 116: Theater in London, Eight 100-level courses, including three from the following: TS 101-130S, 175, 176, 177S, 179S, Theater Studies 189S: Senior Colloquium.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Applicants for admission must complete either the College Board Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) or the test of the American College Program (ACT). Applicants taking the SAT should take the three-part SAT Reasoning Test plus two SAT subject tests. Applicants to the Pratt School of Engineering must take one SAT Subject Test in mathematics. Applicants who choose to take the ACT should plan to take the ACT with the new writing portion. A minimum score of 100 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT) or 250 on the computer-based TOEFL (CBT) or 600 on the paper-based TOEFL (PBT) or an overall band score of 7 on the IELTS is expected for all applicants to Duke.
