Ringkasan program

Students will learn how to communicate effectively, identify the historical periods and styles of theatre, demonstrate knowledge of and skill in aspects of technical theatre, such as costuming, lighting, set design and construction, demonstrate skill in public performance, direct theatrical scenes or productions, and understand the role of drama in culture. A theatre major prepares students for a wide variety of careers in professional theatre, education, television, and broadcast journalism.

The modules include LITR 3640 Studies in Drama or LITR 4720 Shakespeare, THEA 2020 Acting I, THEA 2060 Technical Theatre, THEA 2100 Theatre Lab (1 credit each - must take four times), THEA 3200 Theatre History I, THEA 3250 Theatre History II, THEA 3500 Production and Stage Management, THEA 4100 Directing for the Stage, THEA 3050 Costuming and Makeup, THEA 3060 Scene Design, THEA 3070 Lighting and Sound Design, COMM 3050 Performance Studies, THEA 2000 Voice and Movement, THEA 2025 Performance for Film and Television, THEA 2200 Vocal Articulation for Media and Stage, THEA 3020 Acting II, THEA 4020 Acting Styles, THEA 4900 Special Topics in Theatre, THEA 4950 Internship in Theatre, THEA 4990 Independent Study in Theatre.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students who have earned CXC or O level certificates (HSC and CAPE) must provide five passing scores in academic subjects and proof of secondary school completion. Students for whom English is not their native language must be able to demonstrate adequate English skills by submitting one of the following: Proof of graduation from a U.S. regionally-accredited high school, Proof of English language proficiency with either a passing score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) 213 on the computer-based test; 550 on the paper-based test, an internet score of 79/80 or a passing score on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS*)--6.0 on the test module, SAT verbal score of 480 or above, or ACT verbal score of 20, College transcript with one "English Composition One" course at a U.S. regionally-accredited college with a grade of C or better.
