Ringkasan program
This degree is a vibrant interdisciplinary field practiced around the nation and world. It examines the intersection between such subjects as globalization and economics, music and politics, history and gender, race and environment, technology and art. This willingness to cross the boundaries of traditional disciplines allows for creative critical thinking and research.
Modul program
The modules are as follows: 40.248 Values in American Culture, 43.111/43.112 U.S. History to/since 1877, 42.294/42.295 History of American Literature I and II, course in research methods, 40.401 American Studies Seminar or 40.491 Directed Study.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Students should have completed the following coursework at the college preparatory level or higher during high school such as four years of English, two years of social studies (including one year of U.S. history), three years of mathematics, two years of foreign language (in a single language), three years of science (two with a lab), and two years of electives. In addition to this, students must have considerable facility with English, and prospective students whose native language is not English are required to take college writing 1 and 2 with a grade of C or better at a regionally accredited college or university, or to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). They should have a minimum TOEFL score of 550 on the paper version of the test, 213 on the computer-based version and 79-80 on the internet-based version.
