Ringkasan program

In this program, students will experience the theory and practice of the arts in a workshop setting and, in studio or ensemble courses, will gain practical experience in at least one area of the visual or performing arts or creative writing. Students who complete the major in Art and Performance (AP) pursue an interdisciplinary study of the arts by selecting among courses in historical context, studio practice, performance ensemble, creative writing, and ideas and interpretation of the arts. Courses in the historical context and interpretation of the arts will enable students to understand how style, subject matter, and materials may respond to different motivations and purposes. In their selection of required and elective courses, students are encouraged to focus their coursework around one of the following areas: art history (early or modern period), two-dimensional or three-dimensional studio art, creative writing, art and technology (computer imaging, photography, video art), or music/theatre/performance. The combination of creativity, communication and critical thinking skills fostered by the School of Arts and Humanities makes this degree applicable to a variety of occupations. Aside from the mainstream career paths of teaching or working in arts organizations and museum settings, students with an art and performance degree may find employment in government, nonprofit or social science sectors.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Applicants must have completed a full, college-track high school curriculum, including language arts (4 units), mathematics (3.5 units), science (3 units of laboratory science, excluding physical science), social sciences (3 units), foreign language (2 units in a single foreign language), and fine arts (.5 unit in music, art, or drama).. International Students must have minimum TOEFL score of 550 on paper based, 213 on computer based or 80 on the internet based test, 6.5 on IELTS or 67 on PTE academic.
