This program's concentration in Communication in Contemporary Culture emphasizes the communication dynamics that organize everyday life especially in worklife cultures and popular culture. Majors are prepared either for graduate work in communication, or for a variety of positions in the emerging information and communication economy especially in workplace and popular communication venues.

Students must have a 2.75 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) for admitting into College of Engineering or School of Technology, 2.5 for other programs and schools, a minimum 550 PBT, 213 CBT, 79 iBT (paper-based, computer-based, internet-based) in TOEFL or 690 in TOEIC or 6.5 overall band score in IELTS, minimum 420 writing, 500 critical reading, (550 Math/Quantitative) in SAT 1.
