This department has 22 Tenure-track faculty plus 8 full time lecturers. They are supported by a staff of 7 full time administrative staff personnel and one computer support scientist. The faculty boasting credentials include 2 IEEE fellows, 1 Career Awards recipients (NSF Young Faculty award), Several Best Paper Awards, Authors of more than 9 Books - 89 Book Chapters - 565 Published Papers - 517 Conference Papers. The department's annual operating budget is over $3.6M. In 2006, the department generated over $3.8M in sponsored research awards. Multiple grants from NSF (National Science Foundation), NIH (National Institute of Health), AFRL (Air Force Research Laboratory) and local industry. It is nationally recognized for its high quality of research and education. This university provides campus housing to students through residential halls and apartments. All students are eligible to be accommodated in Hamilton Hall; it has double and triple occupancy rooms. Students who are in the University Honors Program are eligible to be accommodated in Honors Community, it has double occupancy rooms.
