This program is designed for the student with broad interests in geography that overlap with other emphasis areas.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Students must complete a total of 36 semester hours of geography courses and Statistics 1200 (25), 1300 (31), or a higher level statistics course. They should possess a cumulative GPA of 2.0. International students whose native language is not English must have the minimum TOEFL score with 500 on paper based test, 173 on computer-based test, 60 on Internet-based test and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an overall score of 6.0 and no individual band under 5.0. is required for admission.

The department is structured to give students the skills they will need if they want to work as professional geographers—skills that apply to other fields. They are the basic skills of observation, speculation, analysis, interpretation, and communication.

Manor House Apartments are available to graduate and professional students over the age of 21 without children. Students can apply to live in one of 38 studio apartments, 6 one-bedroom apartments and 29 two-bedroom apartments. At Manor House students have all the advantages of living on campus with the privacy of an apartment and the convenience of being near downtown Columbia. Each apartment contains a kitchen unit with an electric range, refrigerator, and garbage disposal. Apartments are carpeted and unfurnished. The monthly rental rate includes water, sewer, gas, basic cable, and local phone bills. Apartments are individually metered, enabling residents to make their own arrangements with utility companies. The resident pays the electric bill. University Heights, University Terrace, and University Village Apartment complexes offer safe, affordable, and family-friendly housing for students with families and a limited number of single graduate students. Although floor plans vary, all apartments include living room, kitchen, bath, and one or two bedrooms. All are unfurnished except for stoves and refrigerators. The monthly rental rate includes water, sewer, gas, basic cable, and local phone bills. Apartments are individually metered, enabling residents to make their own arrangements with utility companies.
