Ringkasan program
This program will prepare UNT students for professional careers in television, radio and Internet-based news operations on the local, national and international levels, plus careers in corporate and multi-channel television. The major integrates a broad and thorough overview of the ever-changing electronic news media, with intermediate and advanced courses in writing and reporting for radio, television and the Internet; interviewing and performance; shooting and editing for television; television and radio news producing; news media analysis; electronic news management; plus classes in legal and ethical issues and covering cross-cultural communities. Students further develop their skills through NTTV, KNTU-FM and their web sites. To qualify, students must successfully complete the Write Placer essay exam with a grade of (5) or better and must complete at least 42 hours of college courses before applying for major status
Modul program
The modules include CBCM 2400 Digital Media Writing 3, RTVF 1310 Perspectives on Radio and Television 3 and RTVF 2210 Introduction to RTVF Writing 3; 15 hours of RTVF 3560 Interviewing and Performance for Electronic News 3, RTVF 4100 Professional Event Directing: Theory and Practice 3, RTVF 4455 Ethical Decision-Making in the Media 3, CBCM 3500 Broadcast Media Practicum 3, CBCM 3525 Advanced Broadcast Media Practicum 3; and 6 hours from the RTVF list of industry studies including: RTVF 4320 History of the Documentary 3, RTVF 4420 Electronic Media Programming 3, RTVF 4430 Electronic Media Management 3, RTVF 4444, RTVF 4670 Media Economics 3 and RTVF 4850 Television News Producing 3; and 12 additional hours of electives selected from the following: RTVF 3300 Radio and Television Announcing 3, RTVF 3330 Sports Broadcasting I 3, RTVF 3340 Sports Broadcasting II 3, RTVF 3482 Radio Practicum 1-3, RTVF 3501 Television Practicum 1, RTVF 3502 Advanced Television Practicum 2, RTVF 4130 Convergence Practicum 1-3, RTVF 4320 Electronic Media Law and Regulations 3, RTVF 4360 International Communication 3, RTVF 4410 Media Studies Topics 3, RTVF 4411 Video Production Topics 3, RTVF 4430 Electronic Media Management 3, RTVF 4445 Media in the 21st Century 3, RTVF 4450 Topics in Industry Studies 3, RTVF 4480 Internship in Radio/Television/Film 1-3, RTVF 4850 Television News Producing 3, RTVF 4900 Special Problems 1-3.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Students must have graduated from an accredited high school and strongly recommend that students take the following classes in high school. Students should have a strong ‘B’ average and have completed three units of English and two units each of solid mathematics, social science and natural science. Students should have a minimum combined SAT (combined critical reading/verbal and math) score of 1180 or ACT composite of 26. International students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 79 (Internet-based), score of 550 (Paper-based) and score of 213 (Computer-based) and a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall band and also should have minimum MELAB (official version) score of 80 or higher.
