This program requires a minimum of 120 semester hours, of which 42 must be advanced, and fulfillment of degree requirements for the Bachelor of Arts degree. Students majoring in Spanish should consider taking history and geography courses that deal specifically with their language study; a minimum grade of C is required for a course to count toward the major; minimum GPA of 2.75 in Spanish course work is required for graduation.

Modul program

The modules include a minimum of 38 hours of Spanish, including: SPAN 1010, SPAN 1020, SPAN 2040 and SPAN 2050, plus 24 semester hours of advanced work, including 6 hours in 4000-level courses or above. Placement or credit by examination may be used to satisfy SPAN 1010 Elementary Spanish. 4 hours, SPAN 1020 Elementary Spanish. 4 hours, SPAN 2040 Intermediate Spanish. 3 hours and SPAN 2050 Intermediate Spanish. 3 hours, 6 hours from SPAN 3060 Advanced Spanish Composition and Oral Practice. 3 hours, SPAN 3070 Advanced Spanish Composition and Oral Practice. 3 hours and SPAN 3080 Advanced Spanish Composition and Grammar for Bilinguals. 3 hours, plus Span 3090 Advanced Spanish Grammar I. 3 hours, 3 hours of SPAN 3110 Introduction to Hispanic Literature, 3 hours of a 3000-level Hispanic culture course: SPAN 3140 Mexican Culture and Civilization, SPAN 3150 Spanish Culture and Civilization or SPAN 3160 Latin American Culture and Civilization, 3 hours of a 4000-level Hispanic literature survey course: SPAN 4310 Spanish literature to 1700, SPAN 4320 Spanish literature since 1700, SPAN 4360 SPAN 4370. Survey of Spanish-American Literature. 3 hours or SPAN 4370 Spanish-American literature since 1888.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students must have graduated from an accredited high school and strongly recommend that students take the following classes in high school. Students should have a strong ‘B’ average and have completed three units of English and two units each of solid mathematics, social science and natural science. Students should have a minimum combined SAT (combined critical reading/verbal and math) score of 1180 or ACT composite of 26. International students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 79 (Internet-based), score of 550 (Paper-based) and score of 213 (Computer-based) and a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall band and also should have minimum MELAB (official version) score of 80 or higher.
