This department is committed to providing a fresh and varied program of study, offering some stimulating courses centered upon such subjects as humor, film, business, poetry, law enforcement, and other aspects of the cultures we study through language. Where appropriate, it uses the latest technologies available. Its professors are committed to their teaching and they develop close mentoring relationships with students. All members of the department are fluent speakers of the languages they teach, and there is also a significant number of native speakers in the department.

This university provides campus housing to students through residential halls and apartments. All students are eligible to be accommodated in Hamilton Hall; it has double and triple occupancy rooms. Its amenities include fully furnished rooms with cable, high speed internet, fridge, microwave, phone, private floor restrooms and showers, air conditioning, floor lounges, laundry facilities, computer lab in lobby. Students who are in the University Honors Program are eligible to be accommodated in Honors Community, it has double occupancy rooms.
