This program prepares students to pursue many professional career choices within the field, including graduate study, by focusing on disciplines such as directing, dramaturgy, stage management, playwriting, theatre history and theory.

Modul program

The modules are - all of the courses from the following list: DRAM 1206: Introduction to Design, DRAM 1208: Introduction to Design, DRAM 1282: 1 Credit Practicum, DRAM 1702: Introduction to Acting For Non-BFA Majors, DRAM 2130: History of Drama I, DRAM 2131: History of Drama II, DRAM 2141: Script Analysis, DRAM 4711W: The Director in the Theatre. Any TWO courses from the following list: DRAM 3130: Women in Drama, DRAM 3131(W): African-American Theatre, DRAM 3142: Dramaturgy, DRAM 4135W: Period Studies in Theatre, DRAM 3138: Trends in Contemporary Theatre, An additional 18 credits in Dramatic Arts at the 3000-4000 level, An additional 12 credits at the 3000-4000 level in a related group outside the department.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students should complete, as a minimum, the following college preparatory courses while in high school: Four years of English, three years of math (algebra I, algebra II and geometry), two years of social studies (including one year of U.S. History), two years of a single foreign language (3 years strongly recommended), two years of laboratory science, three years of electives. The minimum score requirement for the TOEFL is 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), or 79 (Internet-based). The minimum score requirement for the IELTS exam is 6.5.

Department of Dramatic Arts and its theatre production arm, the Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT), combine to create an exciting center for excellence in the dramatic arts. Each year young theatre artists from across the United States choose to pursue education, training, and production experience through undergraduate and graduate study in the Department of Dramatic Arts and CRT. The goal of the department is twofold. First, it aims to provide the finest possible professional training through classroom and studio instruction. Second, it aims to supplement and enrich that classroom and studio training by providing maximal opportunities for students to obtain professional level production experience through active participation in plays produced by the Connecticut Repertory Theatre.

University provides on campus housing at the following residence halls for graduate students at the following places: Graduate Residences; The Graduate Residences contain single rooms for graduate students and older undergraduates. Centrally located on campus, the Graduate Residences consist of three buildings in a coeducational complex that contains 440 carpeted, single rooms. These buildings are subdivided into 16 halls with no more than ten students sharing a bathroom on a floor. These residences provide year-round housing including breaks between semesters and holidays. Northwood Apartments; The Northwood Apartments complex is located on Northwood Road, just off of North Eagleville Road on the western perimeter of the University of Connecticut campus. Northwood Apartments provides housing for graduate students in two-bedroom apartments and also accommodates graduate students with families. Some undergraduate students may also be housed in two-bedroom apartments. Hilltop Apartments; The Hilltop Apartments are home to 964 undergraduate and graduate students. While primarily serving the undergraduate student population there are a number of apartments available for graduate students. The complex is comprised of thirteen, three story buildings and a Community Center. There are a variety of living options available ranging from four person, two person, and one person efficiency apartments. University also provides on campus housing for the undergraduate students at the following residence halls; Alumni Quadrangle, Buckley, Charter Oak Apartments, Alan Thacker Busby Suites (formerly Charter Oak Suites), East Campus, Hilltop Residence Halls, Hilltop Apartments, Harry Lucian Garrigus Suites (formerly Hilltop Suites), Husky Village, Mansfield Apartments, McMahon Hall, Northwest - Freshmen Only, North Campus, Shippee - Freshmen Only, South Campus, Towers Quadrangle, West Campus.
