The Center for Women’s and Gender Studies is a unique interdisciplinary program that offers courses, degrees and organized events each year. The focus of the program is on understanding women’s experiences from a variety of perspectives as well as the role that gender plays in shaping society. Started by a handful of faculty and students in 1979, CWGS now has over two hundred faculty affiliates from fourteen different schools and colleges who contribute to our programs. Among them are several award-winning teachers and nationally recognized scholars.

The Division of Housing and Food Service is dedicated to providing quality food service to the university community. All dining venues are open to anyone who visits campus. It encourages everyone to experience the convenience and variety offered in each of its dining locations. It accept Cash, Bevo Bucks and Dine in Dollars (10%discount) and major credit cards. On-campus housing can hold more than 7,100 students. Jester Center is the largest residence hall with its capacity of 2,945. Academic enrollment exceeds the capacity of on-campus housing; as a result, most students must live in private residence halls, housing cooperatives, apartments, or with Greek organizations and other off-campus residences. The Division of Housing and Food Service, which already has the largest market share of 7,000 of the estimated 27,000 beds in the campus area, plans to expand to 9,000 beds in the near future.
