In support of the mission of the University, the School of Business and Leadership provides a person-centered learning environment for innovative business education and community outreach that fosters the professional and personal development of our students, faculty, and staff. . The order continues as the sponsoring organization of the University. Members of the Congregation arrived in Texas in 1866, where they initially established themselves in Austin, and then in Castroville in 1868. The mission of Our Lady of the Lake University, an independent, Catholic institution sponsored by the Congregation of Divine Providence, is: To provide excellent teaching through traditional and innovative educational programs; To develop its diverse, intercultural student bodies in Christian, person-centered learning communities; and To graduate individuals who are competent and committed to service.

Learning to live in community and creating a home away from home is one of the great lessons of college. The University offers residence halls. Ayres Hall is a co-ed, predominantly freshmen residence hall which accommodates 80 residents in double-occupancy rooms with connecting baths. This hall has central air conditioning and heat. A connecting hallway leads to the companion residence facility. Facilities shared by both halls include a television lounge, a laundry room, an outdoor patio and an outdoor swimming pool. Centennial Hall and Flores Hall are also co-ed residence hall accommodating residents in single, double, and triple-occupancy rooms; all with private baths. Pacelli Hall is all-female, predominantly freshman residence hall accommodates 128 residents in double-occupancy rooms with connecting bathrooms, central air conditioning and heat. A connecting hallway leads to the companion residence facility, Ayres Hall. Providence Hall is a co-ed upperclassman residence hall accommodates 82 residents in single-occupancy rooms with either private or connecting baths and individually regulated central air conditioning and heat. Facilities include lounges and laundry rooms. St. Ann's Hall is a co-ed residence hall accommodates 34 residents in double-occupancy rooms with connecting baths, central air conditioning and heat. Facilities include a television lounge and a laundry room. Residents committed to Service and Social Justice will interview and be selected to live in this newly designed Living-Learning Community (LLC) giving residents the ability to live within a community of students committed to transforming the world. St. Ann's Hall is named in honor of St. Ann, mother of Mary and patroness of the Congregation of Divine Providence.
