This program is accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), 111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202-4012- tel (410) 347-7700. The course sequence for mechanical engineering is as follows: In all areas, increasing emphasis has been placed on synthesis, looking to the performance of complete systems as opposed to that of single components. In this program students can select their elective courses among two technical electives and three general electives in various ways. Some of them may wish to cluster those electives in ways that would help them gain expertise in an area of specialization within mechanical engineering.
