Ringkasan program

This program of study is interdisciplinary and is designed to provide career and academic advancement for health care practitioners as well as deliver a well-rounded generalist curriculum. The curriculum is designed to build upon the existing knowledge base of the health care professional while focusing on the overall health care picture. Leadership, diversity, and conflict resolution are but a few of the areas covered in the curriculum. It enables students to: pursue a well-rounded and diverse educational degree completion program for health professionals in an online environment that allows them to continue gainful employment in their chosen field while attending and completing course work, enhance and develop the student’s leadership and health care knowledge through academic inquiry while using current, practical health care models, enhance their understanding of diverse populations in health care and to prepare the student to take a leadership role in the rapidly changing health care environment, enhance the student’s understanding of the political, social, legal and ethical issues that may be encountered and have an impact on areas of health care practice and develop knowledge that helps bridge between clinical care, health care diversity and critical inquiry. The program will demonstrate command of the following learning outcomes as evidenced by their participation in class, completion of class assignments, presentations, projects, they will be able to: communicate effectively in writing on a variety of topics related to health care, demonstrate an awareness and appreciation of the delivery of culturally competent health care, effectively communicate and acknowledge the impact of the legal, ethical, and political environment on health care policy and delivery, demonstrate the knowledge and ability to search and retrieve information and materials related to individual clinical practice issues or overall health policy concerns, describe and demonstrate management or leadership skills and theories that can be applied in preparation to lead or manage effectively in a health care environment, demonstrate knowledge of and effectively apply health care models, theories, and tools to issues impacting health care delivery.

Modul program

This program covers modules that include: BHS 3110 Health Care Ethics, BHS 3120 Introduction to Epidemiology, BHS 3150 Principles of Leadership, BHS 3155 Conflict Resolution in Health Care, BHS 3160 Health Policy, BHS 4000 Cultural Competency in Health Care, BHS 4100 Academic and Professional Writing.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Student should have completed a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required. Minimum paper score =550; Minimum computerized score = 213; Minimum internet score=79. A score of 6.0 on the International English Language Testing System (ILETS) exam is accepted in lieu of the TOEFL. Either the SAT or ACT verbal score may substitute for the above English Language Proficiency scores. Applicants must earn a minimum 480 verbal on the SAT or 20 on the ACT. They should have prior to matriculation, must have completed 3 semester hours (or the equivalent) of college level written composition course from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum grade of a C (GPA of 2.0 on a four point grading scale). Effective January 1, 2006. An Associate Degree in a field of health, from a regionally accredited College or University with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a four point grading scale or a Diploma or Certificate of Completion in a field of health care accompanied by a student prepared learning portfolio requesting Assessment of Prior Experiences for Academic Credit.
