This program prepares for a career path where the student contributes to the continued deployment of technology infrastructure, (operating systems, browsers, applications, softwares, networking, etc.). It blends both CS, IT, and Business coursework and requires an internship for the completion of the degree. Students wishing to do graduate work in Computer Science should work towards the Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

All students interested obtaining a degree in Computer Science must receive an ACT score of 25 in Math and a composite ACT score of 24. Transfer students must have a 2.0 at each institution and a final term GPA of 2.0. Students who do not meet the above criteria may petition.

The mission of the School of Computing and Engineering (SCE) is to provide nationally competitive educational opportunities and focused research in Computing and Engineering to the students of the Midwest region - generating the technical work force and research results needed to drive the economic development of the region including entrepreneurial activities. The University began hosting engineering degree coursework in 1956 by offering the Bachelor of Science in General Engineering. In 1978 the Engineering disciplines become ABET accredited. Increased technology demands during the mid-‘80s helped to build a long lasting partnership between UMKC and Sprint coupled with the added success of UMKC’s high-tech computer science and telecommunications program. Today the School of Computing and Engineering offers undergraduate, graduate and Interdisciplinary PhD’s in the fields of Information Technology, Computer Science, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.

Student housing at UMKC is about more than just offering students a place to eat and sleep - it's about their total educational experience. Whether it’s continuing a classroom discussion over pizza, or attending a discussion with faculty outside of class, the university know that having a home away from home is important. Residence Life offers them a place where they can hang out with friends, learn about others and most importantly, learn about them self. That's why all housing is conveniently located on the west side of campus, near the University Center (and cafeteria), Swinney Recreation Center, and within easy walking distance to all other Volker campus buildings. Nearby are the Country Club Plaza and museums, and other local attractions. Downtown Kansas City, Mo., is approximately 10 minutes away by automobile (or bus).
