Ringkasan program

This program provides students with an introduction to civilizations of the past and present. Students who select this concentration develop an understanding of the historical process and the complexities that shape the forces of civilization. Students have the opportunity to explore the civilizations of antiquity, Europe, America, and the developing world.

The modules are as follows: 43.107 World Civilization I, 43.108 World History II, 43.112 U.S. History Since 1877, 43.242 The Second World War, 43.270 Women in American History, 43.274 Native American History, 43.308 History of Crime and Social Control, 43.336 Problems of Modern Ireland, 43.356 Civil War and Reconstruction, 43.393 History of the Middle East.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students should have completed the following coursework at the college preparatory level or higher during high school such as four years of English, two years of social studies (including one year of U.S. history), three years of mathematics, two years of foreign language (in a single language), three years of science (two with a lab), and two years of electives. In addition to this, students must have considerable facility with English, and prospective students whose native language is not English are required to take college writing 1 and 2 with a grade of C or better at a regionally accredited college or university, or to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). They should have a minimum TOEFL score of 550 on the paper version of the test, 213 on the computer-based version and 79-80 on the internet-based version.
