The School of Education offers professional programs designed to train and equip the next generation of teachers for both public schools and private Christian schools. Students who are interested in elementary education will major in liberal arts in order to gain a strong foundation of knowledge in laboratory sciences, geography, history, political science, literature, writing and mathematics in addition to a nine-credit reading specialist core.

All first-year students are required to live in the apartments in Harwood and Waite Halls in order to experience the exceptional living and learning environments in CCU’s stairwell communities. In addition, all first-year students are also given the opportunity to live in one of unique learning communities. The on-campus apartments house over 600 students annually and provide a living and learning community experience that helps students work together to integrate their studies with their faith in Christ. Residence life is designed to enhance and complement the academic goals of the University by promoting the growth and development of each student. Living on campus is viewed by the University as an important part of a student’s complete educational experience. Full-time (12 credit hours or more per semester), unmarried, first and second-year students (under the age of 21) taking courses in the College of Undergraduate Studies (traditional program) are required to live on campus. All unmarried first and second-year students under the age of 21 who live in on-campus housing are required to have a meal plan. First-year students are required to have Meal Plan A. Second-year students may choose either Meal Plan A or Meal Plan B. Third and fourth-year students living on-campus are not required to have a meal plan, but may choose from any of the available plans.
