Uraian Tempat

The Environmental Sciences Institute (ESI) was established in 1995 and is one of several new innovative programs at Florida A and M University. Environmental science is a relatively new discipline and offers many opportunities for holders of degrees in the field. The ESI is a multidisciplinary unit that offers a wide range of services to students, governmental agencies, private sector companies, communities and other organizations. The value for diversity is reflected in the faculty, students and staff that comprise the Institute. Consistent with the mission of FAMU, the Institute has a commitment to the training of African Americans and others underrepresented in the sciences, and is the largest producer of Black doctorates in the environmental sciences. However, they are sensitive to and keenly aware that having individuals of all racial and ethnic groups provides for an enriched and valuable experience for all. The Institute is currently home to 10 faculty and 80 students in all degree programs for a high faculty student ratio, which allows students to receive individual attention.

This university offers Cropper Hall: Cropper Hall is a freshmen facility. It is equipped with a large lobby area, a laundry facility, electronic access, wireless internet capability, and a general study area downstairs. Cropper Hall offers community bathrooms. Each bathroom is equipped with several shower stalls, toilets, and sinks. Cropper Hall is centrally located on campus for easy access to most classrooms, the library and media center. Diamond Hall: Diamond shares a lobby with McGuinn Hall. It is equipped with a laundry facility, electronic access, wireless internet capability, and a general study area downstairs. Diamond Hall offers community bathrooms. Each bathroom is equipped with several shower stalls, toilets, and sinks. The facility is within walking distance to the bus terminal, the Student Union Building, and the main administration building. Gibbs Hall: Gibbs introduced the bill to the Florida Legislature that provided for the establishment of the college. Gibbs Hall has three hundred and five bed spaces. It is equipped with a laundry facility, electronic access, and wireless internet capability. Gibbs Hall offers community bathrooms. Each bathroom is equipped with several shower stalls, toilets, and sinks. Gibbs Hall is located in the West Quadrangle of campus on Wahnish Way directly across the street from the Bragg Memorial Stadium. McGuinn Hall: McGuinn Hall is a three and one half story facility with 110 rooms which accommodates a total of two-hundred and sixteen (216) bed spaces. McGuinn and Diamond shares a lobby. It is equipped with a laundry facility, electronic access, wireless internet capability, and a general study area downstairs. McGuinn Hall offers community bathrooms.
