Ringkasan program
This program has two specially designed programs for students in medical technology. Students taking a "3+1" option complete the equivalent of three years of coursework required for a baccalaureate degree. The courses include those needed to qualify for clinical training at Bowman Gray/Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. Upon successful completion of the University phase, the student can apply for entrance into the hospital for a fourth year of specialized clinical training. The "4+1" option allows the student to complete a baccalaureate degree from UNC Charlotte prior to applying for clinical training in a medical technology program. Students may apply to the programs affiliated with UNC Charlotte or to any of the dozens of medical technology programs offered across the nation.

Students should have graduated from an approved or accredited high school or have earned a high school equivalency certificate or G.E.D. The high school course units should include the following: 4 units in English, emphasizing grammar, composition and literature; 4 units in mathematics, including Algebra I, Algebra II and geometry, and a higher level mathematics course for which Algebra II is a prerequisite; 2 units in social studies, including one unit in U.S. history; and 3 units in science, including at least one unit in a life or biological science (e.g., biology), at least one unit in a physical science (e.g., chemistry, physics, physical science), and at least one laboratory course; and 2 units of the same foreign language. A minimum score of 180 on the new computer based TOEFL or a minimum score of 75% on the MELAB is required for admission.
