Founded in 1876, Prairie View A and M University is the second oldest public institution of higher learning in the state of Texas. With an established reputation for producing engineers, nurses and educators, PVAMU offers baccalaureate degrees in 50 academic majors, 37 master’s degrees and four doctoral degree programs through nine colleges and schools. At University, students can have the privacy and lifestyle that they deserve in a freshmen student community that is conducive to achieving academic success. With a great location, private bedroom accommodations, fully furnished units, individual liability leases and extensive community amenities, there is no reason to look anywhere else. Interior features includes the following: regular twin size bed, microwave, refrigerator, cable television service included, mirrored walls and doors, computer desk, housekeeping service, ample closet space, fully furnished units, wireless internet, and disability access. The university has four student housing communities, including apartments for upper classmen and a living and learning community just for freshmen. Students can request two or four bedroom apartments (upper classmen) and the roommate(s) of their choice.
