Ringkasan program
This program combines theory and practice as students study the historical and conceptual foundations of the field of communication. An historical understanding of communication theory is useful but insufficient in a globally competitive world, so the major in communication studies also equips students with the competencies most prized by employers including strong oral and written communication, effective interpersonal and group communication skills, critical thinking, meeting planning, and problem-solving/decision-making. Students focused on organizational communication are aiming for professional careers in business, education, government, industry, or the nonprofit sector. The skills and competencies acquired through this concentration enable students to understand the dynamics of, and function more effectively in, organizational structures. Recent graduates are employed in major consulting firms, national financial service providers, conference planning companies, and information management organizations.

The courses are: Introduction to Health Communication, Introduction to Organizational Communication, Introduction to Communication in Public Advocacy, Information Diffusion, Advanced Organizational Communication, Field Research Methods in Communication, Empirical Research Applications in Communication, Rhetorical Analysis and Criticism, Communication and the Campaign, Practicum in Communication, Organizational Communication Internship, Advanced Argument and Debate, Advanced Presentations, Instructional Training and Development in Communication.

Admission requirements are as follows for different countries: Students from India must possess Higher Secondary Certificate, Indian School Certificate or All India and Delhi Senior School Certificate with a grade of 75%. Students from Indonesia must have completed DANEM/SMA with grades of 7/10. Pakistan students must possess Intermediate or Higher Secondary School Certificate with a 55%. Students from Malaysia must have completed Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia with a 6 passes grade 6 or lower. Students from Myanmar should have a Bachelors degree with grade point of 3.5/5. Students from Saudi Arabia must have General Secondary Education Certificate with 75%. Singapore students must complete the Singapore-Cambridge GCSE O Levels with 6 passes graded D or higher. Students from China should have Senior Middle School Certificate with B/80%. Students from United Kingdom should have completed GCSE with 6 passes graded C or higher. Scores of ACT or SAT and TOEFL score of 550 on the paper-based, 213 on the computer-based, 80 on the internet based or a score of 6.5 on the IELTS exam are required.
