Ringkasan program

This program provides students with strong scientific knowledge and research skills that prepare students for graduate studies and professional fields in the biological sciences. Students completing requirements for the B.S. degree in Biology must complete all requirements in the general education core curriculum and 45 credit hours of recommended biology courses including those required for graduation. Students must also complete at least nine credit hours of mathematics and 12 to 18 credit hours of chemistry, physics or and aerospace sciences courses in the major programs. This program has undergone major upgrades in the teaching facilities, equipments and curriculum. Courses now include two credit hours of laboratory experiences and recitations. The Biology teaching laboratory has new workstations for conducting experiments in general biology, microbiology and dissections in anatomy and physiology classes. New laboratory equipment include high power compound microscopes, phase contrast microscopes, a microbiology inoculation hood an incubator and a refrigerator. These upgrades are allowing the Biology majors to gain the knowledge and research skills needed to enter graduate studies or health-related professions such as public health, medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine and pharmacy. The upgrades in the teaching facilities and curriculum have enhanced student learning and transferability of Biology courses to other Indiana Colleges and Universities and other Universities outside Indiana.

Students must have completed high school or GED. International students must have obtained Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score.
