The purpose of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction is to provide regional, national, and international leadership in the study and improvement of teaching and learning in diverse educational settings. The one integrative theme throughout the department is teacher education, which focuses on educators as facilitators of learning for diverse populations (E-FOLD-P). The E-FOLD-P model is designed to: develop beginning educators as problem-solvers, critical thinkers, and decision makers, develop beginning educators who understand and appreciate human diversity and global awareness, develop beginning educators who are reflective and continual learners, and develop beginning educators who are facilitators of student growth and development.

At University, students can have the privacy and lifestyle that they deserve in a freshmen student community that is conducive to achieving academic success. With a great location, private bedroom accommodations, fully furnished units, individual liability leases and extensive community amenities, there is no reason to look anywhere else. Interior features includes the following: regular twin size bed, microwave, refrigerator, cable television service included, mirrored walls and doors, computer desk, housekeeping service, ample closet space, fully furnished units, wireless internet, and disability access. The university has four student housing communities, including apartments for upper classmen and a living and learning community just for freshmen. Students can request two or four bedroom apartments (upper classmen) and the roommate(s) of their choice.
