Ringkasan program

This program is the scientific study of human social behavior. As the study of humans in their collective aspect, sociology is concerned with all group activities such as economic, social, political, and religious. Sociologists study such areas as bureaucracy, community, deviant behavior, family, public opinion, social change, social mobility, social stratification, and such specific problems as crime, divorce, child abuse, and substance addiction. Sociology tries to inform/reform the laws governing human behavior in social contexts, based on scientific findings. It is designed to prepare students to effectively analyze, interpret, understand and predict human social behavior. The Sociology Department‘s objective is to insure that graduates will be skilled in the art and science of the sociological imagination. Sociology majors are able to thrive in any social setting and are important assets to any organization that serves or is dependent on human social interaction.

This program modules include SOC 200 Principles of Sociology 3; SOC 220 Sociological Theory and History 3; SOC 267/ PSY 267 Statistics for the Behavioral and Social Sciences 3; SOC 270/ PSY 270 Research Methods for Behavioral and Social Sciences 3; SOC 235 Social Problems 3; SOC 250 Marriage and the Family 3; SOC 350 Multicultural Issues or SOC 340 Social Interaction 3; SOC 495 Sociology Practicum 3/6; SOC 499 Final Project/Capstone/Internship in Sociology.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students must have completed high school or GED. International students must have obtained Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score.
