Ringkasan program
Sociology is the study of human behavior in the social environment. Sociology studies societies and cultures within a broadly comparative framework. As sociology majors increase their understanding of how the social world impacts the individual and how the individual impacts the social world. The curriculum is designed to engage students in the social world through a scientific understanding of social problems, social stratification, marriage and family, and law. Students critically address issues such as opportunity structures and inequality, and explore diversity in American society. Students are prepared to design their own research and gain entry to graduate school through courses in research methods and research seminar. Many students attend graduate programs or go directly to work in social service and justice agencies, including women's shelters, government agencies, hospital administration, guidance counseling, and casework.
