Ringkasan program
This program is offered through the College of General Studies (CGS) and the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. Only graduates of accredited dental hygiene programs are eligible to complete the BS in dental hygiene. This degree enhances already completed professional training and provides important exposure to the liberal arts, giving dental hygienists additional career opportunities in business, sales, edu¬cation, and research. Students must earn a minimum of 120 credits to complete the Bachelor of Science degree. Of this 120-credit total, 30 credits must be at the 1000 (junior/senior) level.

Modules include the following: Introduction to Dental Hygiene, Introduction to Dentistry, Dental Hygiene Practicum, Dental Hygiene Radiology 1, Dental Materials, Introduction to Clinical Periodontics, Anesthesia and Medical Emergencies, Dental Hygiene Clinic 2, Dental Hygiene Clinic 3, Public Health Dentistry, Dental Health Education, Methods, and Practicum, Dental Hygiene Microbiology, Survey of Chemistry Biochemistry, and Nutrition, Health Management Seminar, Health Management Practicum.
Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional
Applicants must have minimum IELTS score for undergraduate admission is 6.5. The minimum TOEFL score for undergraduate admissions is 80 on the iBT (internet-based test); 213 on the CBT (computer-based test); or 550 on the PBT (paper-based test). Students who have SAT Critical Reading result of 600 or above are exempt from the TOEFL or IELTS requirement.
