Ringkasan program

This program prepares students to meet the competencies of the roles and responsibilities of the entrylevel Health Educator. Two concentrations are available to students majoring in Health Education; concentration one is School Health Education, which leads to eligibility to apply for teacher licensure and prepares the student to teach health in middle and secondary schools; concentration two is Community Health Education, is a non-teaching concentration which provides students with a broad-based introduction to community and public health and prepares them for professional practice in community health agencies, clinical settings and the work place. Both concentrations also prepare students for graduate studies in Health Education at the University of New Mexico or any of the many schools of public health in the United States. In addition, a minor in School Health Education is available. Screening by Health Education faculty is a prerequisite to entering either concentration.

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Students must have an American upper secondary school education or equivalent and have the appropriate diplomas or satisfactory results on leaving examinations, with strong academic preparation or a U.S. equivalent grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (for freshman applicants) or 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (for transfer students), a minimum score of 6.5 in IELTS or a minimum of 520 on the paper test, 190 on the computerized version, or 68 on the internet-based test in TOEFL, minimum score for the CPE or CAE is a C.
