The undergraduates in this program receive extensive laboratory experience in exercise sciences and clinical experience in fitness and motor development programs. Exercise scientists study the relationships among exercise participation, physical activity, and human health and focus on the development and delivery of preventive and rehabilitative physical activity programs that promote health and prevent disease. The mission of the department is to expand and disseminate the body of knowledge concerning the relationships between exercise participation, physical activity, and human health.

The exercise science core requirements (24 Hours): UNIV 101 - The Student in the University, EXSC 191 - Physical Activity and Health, EXSC 223 - Anatomy and Physiology I, EXSC 224 - Anatomy and Physiology II, EXSC 351 - Acquisition of Motor Skills, EXSC 530 - The Physiology of Muscular Activity, EXSC 530L - Physiology of Muscular Activity Lab, EPID 410 - Principles of Epidemiology, First aid certificate; Health Fitness (31 Hours) EXSC 531 - Clinical Exercise Physiology, HPEB 502 or EXSC 507, EXSC 341A - Health Fitness Practicum, EXSC 481 - Practicum in Community Fitness Programs, EXSC 454 - Health/Fitness Programs and Selectives (12 Hours).

Persyaratan masuk bagi mahasiswa internasional

Applicants must be high school graduates or have equivalent qualification. International students whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency by obtaining minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based), 210 (computer-based) or 77 (internet-based). Applicants may also take the International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) in lieu of the TOEFL. A minimum score of 6.5 is required for the IELTS.
