The University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR) is the newest campus of the University of Minnesota system having been formally established in December 2006. With over 35 academic programs available in Rochester, UMR provides graduate and undergraduate degrees, conducts research, and pursues outreach services focusing in the areas of health sciences and biotechnology while continuing its commitment to offer high quality academic programming in business, education, technology, public health, and social work.

The University of Minnesota Rochester is located in the heart of downtown Rochester and is integrated into the community. Students have the option to choose UMR-affiliated housing, located within walking distance of campus and offering the amenities that are important to college students. Living in University-affiliated housing also allows students to connect with one another socially and academically. The Broadway Residence and Suites by Bridge Street are two bedroom apartments containing four single beds, kitchen, living room, television, 2.5 bathrooms, and laundry. It is located directly across the street from UMR and connected to campus via skyway. The Residences of Old Town Hall has one bedroom units containing a single bed, television, and private bathroom, common kitchen and television lounge are available on site. Units are located six blocks from UMR campus and three blocks from the skywalk. The Riverview Apartments and Suites have one and two bedroom apartments containing single beds, kitchen, bath, and living room. It is located three blocks from UMR campus and one and a half blocks from the skywalk.
