A major in information systems (IS) prepares students to excell in business, industry and government technology careers. Graduates are able to provide technical leadership in the changing arena of information technology and recognize opportunities for businesses to apply that technology. IS graduates also understand the diversity of cultural, ethical and political values and the overall socio-economic context in which such technology is applied.

Admission to Drake is selective, the admission committee considers the full record of each candidate for admission. Drake prefers students with varied talents and interests, so there is no single, inflexible set of admission standards applied to all candidates. Students should complete their secondary school for admissions into undergraduate programs. Should take the TOEFL and submit scores to Drake. If not done prior to arrival on campus, the TOEFL must be completed during the orientation session before beginning the semester. Submit documented evidence of financial support for educational expenses. Students should submit ACT or SAT scores directly from the testing agency for scholarship consideration or for admission to the pre-professional pharmacy program.
